Changes to Divorce Filing Fees
June 21, 2016

Starting June 17, 2016, the Registrar’s Office will no longer collect the fee for a Petition for Divorce (Form 72A or 72B) and Clearance Certificate as two separate payments ($100 payable to Minister of Finance and $10 to Receiver General of Canada). Petitioners must pay these fees by a single certified cheque or money order in the amount of $110 payable to the Minister of Finance. This is also the case for individuals in Saint John applying for a divorce using Form 81A Application.

After June 30, 2016, the Registrar’s Office will return payments made with two cheques and the petitioner will have to pay a refiling fee of $10.
