The provincial government is seeking input from New Brunswickers on adopting into provincial family law, key concepts recently changed in the federal Divorce Act. In order to help New Brunswickers share their thoughts on the matter, the Department of Justice and Office of the Attorney General has launched a discussion paper that covers key elements of the provincial legislation in regard to the federal amendments. Those interested in participating in the consultation can choose to submit a brief or respond to a questionnaire in the appendix of the Family Law Reform discussion paper. The discussion paper is available on the Government of New Brunswick website at the Citizen Engagement and Consultations webpage at www.gnb.ca until November 15, 2019.
